State of the Game
Hello again, islanders, and welcome newcomers! You've chosen quite the opportune time to materialize on our collective horizon; last month saw your fellow adventurers implementing a haphazard rescue from a very strict sort of civilization, much to their chagrin. Following that debacle, they were given the opportunity to vote for whichever destination they wanted to travel to next, and the decision boiled down to an island that contains vegetation.

April's intro log will be taking place on the brand new island of Ziziphus, so we recommend that you read up on the new island over HERE, as it will be relevant on this month's intro log!

We've loved the feedback we've gotten about the game thus far, positive and negative, and encourage you to contact us whenever you feel it is necessary!

Our intro log will be going up on the comms on April 5th. Until then, a few quick points:

1. Deaths. Remember that, in the event that your character perishes, to let us know so that we can take a note of it, whether or not it counts for your character's total death count! If you're having trouble thinking of a penalty, we can definitely provide one for you. Remember to use the Deaths page for Death Penalty removal as well, once that time is up!

2. AC. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind people to tag their characters in the comms. This is the only compulsory form of AC we have, but we have stopped warning people for forgetting to tag their character. Characters who fail AC will be swept. An additional reminder, also, to make use of the drop post should your time with LifeAftr come at an end instead of simply idling out; it helps us out a lot!

3. Search Requests. Boy, it's been a while since those have been strictly necessary! While Monsun was rather small, Chol and Ai'tuoh both had plot elements that were rooted in the civilizations inhabiting their respective islands rather than the islands themselves. Ziziphus and its overall relevance to the plot will be much more similar to the central island of Ensō: how much players get from the island will depend on how much they explore. With that in mind, make sure to account for the satisfaction of other players, as well as IC limitations to how much your character can reasonably be expected to chart in one day; if they encounter some serious dangers, they may need a few days to recover before setting off once more.

In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an OOC intro and CR meme for the month of March - for new players to introduce themselves, for old players to meet and greet, and for general plotting to occur! If you want to chat or keep up with game updates, we also have both a plurk and a discord channel!

Your description of Gabe sounds rather interesting. Could definitely be fun to throw Jullien at him since I'm not sure what we would get. He could either absolutely hate him or become rather fond of him given it sounds like he's rather clueless about real life?

HECK IT WHY NOT. gabe is just...yeah. hes abrasive by default mostly because he doesnt really know how else to Be. hes kind of under the (flawed) impression that he can only exist as long as no one forgets him and he accomplishes this by being deliberately difficult and spiteful so that people always remember him??

hes like, eighteen months old and is about as mature as that lol

fortunately for everyone involved gabe is by necessity all bark and no bite. the most he has is the ability to be really fucking cruel which was more than enough for his family but is not really super effective here so sHRUG EMOJI

Jullien pretty much has just as much bite as he does bark. Thankfully he doesn't usually bite without prior provocation.

Gabe could be as cruel as he wants and it probably won't even come close to what Jullien's family has said/done to him.
