Hello everyone! I'm Alice (she/her). While I know a few of you from Plurk or other games, most of you are completely new faces to me so it's nice to meet you all! I've heard good things about this game so I'm excited to have a chance to experience it for myself. I've been out of RP and games for a while now until very recently so please bear with me as I get my bearings once more.

The character I'm bringing to LifeAftr is Wei Wuxian, the protagonist of Mo Dao Zu Shi, a Chinese BL wuxia/xianxia novel about mystics battling the supernatural and sometimes each other on a wartime battlefield in ancient China. Nowadays, there's multiple adaptations of the story out but this specific version is from the original novel. A general summary of Wei Wuxian: he's an easygoing, friendly trickster type with a penchant for mischief and ignoring rules he doesn't like. He's an inventor who came with up several revolutionary magical tools and founded what's essentially necromancy in his canon. As a result of this and other events in his canon, he's pretty much universally hated and reviled back in his own world despite actually being a good person at heart.

While Wei Wuxian seems happy-go-lucky on the surface and is quick to smile or laugh, he's lived a highly traumatic life that's left him with severe PTSD and a phobia of dogs. He's lived through a laundry list of horrific stuff that begins with war atrocities, including the traumatic losses of just about everyone he's ever cared about, and ends in his own grisly murder at the hands of mob justice. He's also committed some pretty terrible acts in his past that's left him with a body count in the thousands though he's currently reformed and has been on a path toward atonement for well over a decade now. Wei Wuxian doesn't like to think or talk about his past except with his closest friends, however, so it'll be very easy to opt out of these heavy topics with him.

I should also probably mention that he's been dead for 13 years and was just now reincarnated into someone else's body following an occult ritual. As a result, Wei Wuxian's presently under a curse where he has cuts on his body that won't heal and will need continuous medical treatment to keep them from getting gross. So at the start, he'll be adjusting to a body that isn't his, interacting with living people after over a decade in purgatory, as well as adapting to some pretty heavy power nerfs in the setting.

Basically, Wei Wuxian has the ability to influence subjects' moods via flute music. He can either incite agitation and hostility in the subject or lull them into a state of peace and calm depending on the type of tune he plays.

waves hello hello~ I'm Kalyn, I actually played here a long while ago but now i'm BACK with YET ANOTHER FATAL FRAME MUSE.

This Miu Hinasaki from Fatal Frame V: Maiden of Black Water. Miu's a 17 year old gravure idol/actress with powerful spiritual abilities and sixth sense. She can read minds and see into peoples' hearts, as well as experience their most traumatic memories which she'll see as if it was herself going through it, with all the thoughts, feelings, etc. that come with it. While she has a good degree of control over this, I'm always up for shenanigans of her seeing someone's worst memories and being like "yo what the fuck?" about it.

Other than that she's also what's called a "shadowborn"--it means her mother was a living woman, but her father was a spirit. It's fine. That's normal.

Miu herself isn't shy about this fact, but she's also described as being "empty" with her unparalleled acting ability a result of that-- "I'm nothing. I'm empty. That's how I can become anything." Because she's been able to read minds since she was 3, she's been able to see through peoples' lies and insincerities since then and has grown up isolated from everyone, hating the two-faced ways of people, and generally just finding humanity's desires--and people themselves--and such disgusting and isn't fond of people. Buutt she cares about herself even less so she'll just do whatever most people say bc she doesn't care about herself.
