June Event: Kaleidoscope Eyes
JUNE EVENT: KALDEIDOSCOPE EYES
Over the course of this month, characters will notice that the kaleidoshells will take to the beaches for nesting, leaving hundreds of large sand mounds to navigate through. As the kaleidoshells subsequently disappear from Ensō's coast, the curious and watchful will take note of two things.
See The Light As It Shines On The Sea
Firstly, the hundreds of mounds containing hundreds of precious eggs are beginning to stir. Small clumps of dried sand will begin falling to the ground, with the Kaleidoshell's offspring emerging entirely from egg and sand on June 16th. Cute, tiny, and exceptionally vulnerable, the hatchlings will immediately begin a slow crawl to the ocean - once there, their chances of survival will exponentially increase.
Secondly (and perhaps, unsurprisingly), the amount of predators roaming the shoreline has more than tripled. Equally unsurprising is their predatory nature; if left unchecked, all of Ensō's predators and scavengers will feast grandly for the next three days.
Predators aren't the only ones interested, however. Delightfully, the beginning of the hatching period will see the arrival of some much more familiar friends- more specifically, the Jormun. After their success in ensuring the revival of the sun back in January, they're more than keen to continue tying themselves to the world above through good deeds! Lead by Munin, the group is seeking to do a little conservation of kaleidoshells, a much-beloved companion of traveling Jormun that have been seen in fewer and fewer numbers over the past decade.
Land-dwellers are, of course, more than welcome to join these conservation efforts, keeping the newly hatched kaleidoshells safe for the duration of their arduous first journey from the shoreline to the sea. Those who do will find themselves equipped with a schlacknorkcvic, the Jormun equivalent of a training staff, and encouraged...not to kill anything during this defense of the young hatchlings, if at all possible. The Jormun are, after all, in the midst of a conservation effort. Their intention is protect the kaleidoshells from harm, not damage Ensō's ecosystem irreparably. Painting the beach red may be a tad counterintuitive.
In addition to the more familiar adult Jormun, their children will also be flocking rather curiously to the islands, potentially leading to sticking their noses where they're not welcome. While nothing will be outright stolen, open homes on the islets may find their contents freely scattered about the place, as the Jormun children pick up and put down things when and where they please. Sorry about that.

It's Blinding
Of course, such efforts are made to be celebrated. Unburdened by the loss of life seen in January, the Jormun have every intention of hosting quite the party on the evening of June 21st. Food, traditional Jormun music, fighting tournaments, and more are bound to entertain all ages, with the peak of the celebrations seeing a grand show of brssticca: bursts of magical light beneath the water that will put any fireworks show to shame. Brssticca has a delightful aftereffect much akin to bioluminescent phytoplankton. And yes, it is perfectly safe to touch and walk about in.

Of course, this is not simply an underwater party. The Jormun are looking to get even more of a taste of land-dwelling culture and as such, characters will have a chance to make suggestions of additional activities, foods, music, or light shows that should be part of the fray. Munin specifically will be contacting adventurers via Stone of Far Speech to confirm what they would like to see or do. Make a good enough case for your idea, and you may just find the Jormun ready to make a request to the Storyteller for it themselves, or perhaps simply making do with whatever materials they have on hand.
Characters will also have the opportunity to organize their own contributions to the party; you are welcome to plan toplevels of these delightful additions to add onto the party log as you wish!
