[He smiles a little. The tale is silly but, he still likes it. Maybe now more than he ever did. Something to be said about someone facing odds bigger than them and winning anyway.]
Brave and smart.
So, the rainbow cat ran until he spotted the giant far off in the distance. He took the time to stop and check his bag. He pulled a cloak from it and pulled the hood over his ears. He sat down in the middle of the road and acted like he had been deep in thought for a while. The unsuspecting Sir Thunder came upon him and fell for the ruse.
'Who are you and what are you doing there?' He bellowed.
The cat, holding the facade effortlessly pitched his voice so he sounded wise and serious. 'Me? I'm the famed magician Mewpuu.' He gestured to his bag. 'Look at my bag, here. There are magic seeds inside, Sir Thunder. I've known about you for a while now. You're quite famous.'
Wisely he had appealed to Thunder's ego. But Thunder's sore foot was more important to the giant. 'I don't think too highly of magicians.' Still, he was curious and that over rode his anger. 'What can you do, anyways?'
He tricked Sir Thunder into believing he could read minds using what he had heard from the swallow. It was pretty simple after that. Thunder wanted to learn his magic and he had him exactly where he wanted him. The giant wasn't very bright.
The rainbow cat let him believe he had a fine talent there and told him how to hone it. It was all a lie but, Thunder was willing to believe sleeping two to three hours, then having cake. Sleeping another three then having a cup of hot tea could do it. He did have manners so we can give him that much.
