[He hides it well, but his voice falters a little and his brows furrow a little bit more. He'd rather not let a stranger know just how much Shiro disappearing and returning bothered him.]

He had no memory of the islands each time, until the last time. He only vanished for a few days. That's happened to others too. Sometimes we disappear for only a short while and come back with new memories. The memories can be any length of time. ...as far as I know.
