Zidane will try whatever is offered to him. Once he comes to in the caverns he'll try and keep a cool head, try and help rally people together, try to find out if anyone has a bloody light or can help navigate out and put himself in possible danger trying to save people from getting hurt by rumbling.

Then later he'll be aged down to 7 where he's a lost kid who's separated from the rest of Tantalus. He'll team up with any other thief kids like Castor (although he won't be so good at pick-pocketing because he's still in training) to find food and shiny treasure stuff.
