The wiggler doesn't move back away when Ginko crouches, but it does stop in its tracks, a foot away, to stare up at him for a bit.

It goes click. It's not particularly clear HOW it went click, because it's had a little doofy sharp-toothed smile on its little baby face this whole time and it doesn't let up on that in order to stare up at Ginko. The front half of its sandwich-body lifts up so it can get a better look and it doesn't...seem? To have stingers? Who ever knows with bugs though, right? Maybe its little black legs ARE stingers.
