June Aftermath: Chasing a Good Time

JUNE AFTERMATH: IO
This month's events were largely the fault of the Clown Box, which made its debut this month. This would, gradually, lead to a confrontation with the Box itself, whereupon resourceful adventurers were quick to team up against their foe with both fierce numbers and offense.

And If We're Going Down In Flames
The fight was a confusing affair; travelers were still trapped in one another's bodies, and still affected with unfamiliar powers. The Box also retaliated by fragmented into pieces, inflicting rampant chaos on all its opponents with mischievous abandon. Adventurers had to contend with constantly changing circumstances, from shifts in color to drastic alterations in perspective. Despite this, those engaged in battle persevered. The joint efforts of Beauregard, Castor Westmoore, Edward Elric, Faust, Ignis Scientia, Keith Kogane, Leonard Church, Lup, Tim Wright, and Zidane Tribal succeeded in splitting the Clown Box open. Remember: as thanks, if you participated in this battle, you may keep one Honeycomb Sledgehammer each.

The resultant shockwave burst of color and sound swept across Io in a bright, disorienting wave...before abruptly zeroing in on the temple of the island's avatar, Eleu. Instead of raising some means of defense, the swarm of bees that comprise Eleu's physical shape abruptly gathered together into a dense cloud and rushed for the arcing burst of noisome color.
Those near the Temple may have overheard a chorus of voices from Eleu's many mouths, calling aloud in a seeming mixture of shock and desperation:
"Zun! Zun! Zun!"

The bolt of color emanating from the Box meets Eleu with full force. The resultant, eruptive burst is so brightly cataclysmic that it's utterly blinding to all who attempt to look upon it.

When the light dims and the colors fade from your vision, there is no light, and Eleu's swarm of bees looks...startlingly different. While they maintain their original shape as a humming swarm, those with keen eyes will notice a distinct change in the patterns and colors of each individual bee. Some bear pink spots, some striped with blue, and more still bearing colors from across the entire spectrum, regardless of what nature might have to say on the matter. This more vibrant coloration almost makes the avatar look like a dancing whirlwind of confetti from a distance.
The newly reformed Eleu'zun is now ready to preside over the full scope of their domain, as the Avatar of Fun. Eleu's previously placid disposition, a strangely muted demeanor for someone who represents something so celebratory, has mingled with Zun's chaotic energies to create a more frenetic, playful vibe. It seems that this is what they are meant to be - instead of chaos incarnate or celebration without purpose, Eleu'zun's true nature appears to be that of a fun-loving avatar with a love for entertainment and a mild taste for mischief.

How they came to be separated in the first place seems to have been lost to time, but needless to say, things have finally been returned to how they should be- including you. Elue'zun will happily assure anyone brave enough to ask that they have had their fill of chaotic delights - no further threats of body-swaps or similar circumstances will come into play.

Instead, the avatar is keen to begin reformatting their island into a setting that accounts for both of their aspects, many of which will be available for adventurers to experience prior to Io's departure.

We Lost Track of Time
Though Io's size hasn't changed, new attractions have sprung up across the land, ready to be enjoyed by those whose idea of relaxation includes something a little more active:
[♆] The bathhouses now come equipped with a wide variety of water slides, some seeming to defy both the laws of gravity and any stretches of safety as they loop through the sky and around buildings. The are most assuredly safe, however, and each wild ride will eventually deposit you in one of the many hot springs dotted about the area - or into the new tide pool. Some ability to swim is highly recommended, as starting to sink in these choppy waters will result in one promptly being spat out onto the shore.

[♆] The vineyard has also received a new attraction - a wild go kart track, one that also cares very little for the general rules of momentum and gravity. Large jumps send one zipping over silos and grapevines, whilst a small variety of items can be picked up for use during the race. These items cannot be taken off the track, so enjoy them while you have them!

[♆] The tea gardens changes are smaller, but more numerous. Astride the main building is a newly established butterfly house, filled with a rainbow of insects that are endlessly friendly and ready to make your acquaintance. Part of the gardens have made way for a new hedge maze that comes in two flavors - the more casual day stroll, and the challenging evening dash, where adventurers will find themselves running to the center as overly large bees attempt to catch them first.

[♆] Lastly, the Honeycomb has been renovated to fit an extensive rollercoaster. Hitting speeds of 149mph, it falls just shy of breaking past speeds that are safe for occupants, sending all who strap themselves in on a loop de loop filled freefall through pitch-black tunnels of honeycomb and dizzying flashes of orange filtered sunlight. Eating prior to jumping on board is not recommended.
All of these changes have been reflected on our its entry on our Locations page! So take advantage! After the hectic nature of this past month, this island has finally reached an equilibrium, and is ready to accommodate all flavors of relaxation...and fun!
