The hatchling safely nestled in Toriel's arms notices the orc immediately and slowly swings its head from side to side. Toriel cannot say if this is defensive behavior on the dragon's part, but tightens her hold on the creature in case she has reason to suspect Varok of violence. Her eyes flick to the makeshift weapon in his hand before roving his face. After a moment of analysis, she responds.
"There are many eggs here," she says, looking beyond the broken wall separating them from the small mountain of a dragon's nest. Although the eggs appear dormant at first glance, she knows better now. "More than I can count from here, but I do see ten. I think they will hatch soon. They will need care."
Toriel turns to Varok with purpose, like she expects him to stay.
