Everything Prompto could remember turns out, in fact, to be quite a bit. Even though he's listening closely, Ignis very quickly finds himself wishing that he had something to take notes on. Followed closely on the heels of that wish is the harsh reminder that even if he did have something to take notes with, it's not like he can see to take them. His earlier feelings of helplessness try to slide back into his head, but he pushes them away and focuses just on Prompto's words. If his memory proves to still be faulty, then he will just have to take the bruise to his pride and ask the blonde for the details again.
Despite how much he wanted to stay with the group, Ignis actually finds himself surprised to hear they had let him follow into the mine. Well, Noctis and Prompto had ceded to his wishes. Gladio, unsurprisingly, had not been so thrilled about the whole thing. Ignis hates the idea that he was a source of conflict between them, but it he also stepped up and ended the conflict before it could go farther. That, at least, sounds a great deal like him and gives him confidence that even if he can't remember it, he did pull himself back together. Rather quickly too.
Of course, the comfort that knowledge gives doesn't last long when Prompto begins to detail how he ended up falling off the train. There was a small part of him that hoped, when Prompto mentioned it before, that he was exaggerating, but no. In fact, after hearing all the details, Ignis can't help but feel he's understating the whole matter.
"The Chancellor was there," Ignis is proud of how steady his voice sounds. It's almost normal, if still a little hoarse. Inside, though, he's hissing in anger. Of course, Ardyn was there! The man is everywhere fortunate or misfortune appears for them.
Unconsciously, his left hand comes up to let his fingers just barely graze over the bottom of the scars around his eye. The motion lasts only a moment before he lets his hand drop and reaches out to find Prompto's arm, "Are you certain you're unharmed?"
There had been no hiding Ignis' injuries after his last run in with Ardyn, but that doesn't mean the same is true for Prompto. Considering this whole thing started with...what? An illusion? Some kind of mental manipulation? Who knew what the limits of the Chancellor's power were. Ignis is sure that Noctis would never have attacked Prompt on purpose. Not even if he was angry with the blonde. Whatever happened, it is likely the wounds Prompto bears are much less physical than Ignis' own. Which means, they will also be harder to heal. Fortunately, Ignis has a feeling he knows exactly where to start thanks to that mention of Aranea. Should they meet her again, he will have to remember to send along his thanks to her.
"Prompto, I may not be able to remember what happened, but I have no doubt we would have been worried sick about you. Noct especially. You're one of us. Nothing is going to change that."
