If you aren't from home, then... did you meet him on a previous 'involuntary adventure'?

I admit to being a little surprised- we're more acquaintances than friends, but the idea that he'd be missing for long enough to become familiar with people from other worlds and I wouldn't notice anything amiss is rather troubling.
