He waits for Sans to expand on what he means and...ah. Well, it would make sense that name would sound like a title. The Batter has not considered why he had been named as such but it likely was not worth reflecting on.

And again, he misses the joke.

"It was the name assigned to me." That is the only explanation Sans will get regarding it. It wasn't like The Batter's name was meant to hide some sort of 'true name' or anything of the like. He had been given a name to be called by his creator. That was all.

Instead of dwelling on the subject, the Batter instead observes the creature one more time. He really is the least threatening thing the Batter has encountered, if going by appearance alone, appearing to have been brought to this place directly from a bedroom - or a grave. That doesn't mean he won't be keeping an eye on Sans while they converse but exchanges of information could be possible.

"Where is the exit?" There's some doubt that Sans would know, but the Batter was going to find out everything he could, starting with that.
