The downside to being pretty calm about the underground cavern thing is, perhaps, that Asgore is also not particularly taken aback by the sudden appearance of nonhuman creatures. When one starts lurching towards him, he even starts to approach it himself - carefully, with a paw outstretched as if to take its hand in his.]

[So, fact: the island is slowly starting to flood. Asgore was quick to notice this when he woke up - you get to be very, very conscious of such things when you live underground for a time. Luckily, he doesn't seem to be wearing his cape and armor in this dream. They'd hinder him a lot in such conditions, and if the pink wool sweater he's got on instead is retaining a lot of water, well, so is all of his fur. It's not that bad. There's even lots of rafts around! How handy!
Another fact: Asgore does not even come close to actually fitting on these rafts.
Which is why it's probably easy to see how the monster king has ended up very uncomfortably perched in the upper branches of a tree, with the sad deflated remains of a dick raft tangled in the leaves by his feet. By rights, this probably shouldn't be able to hold his weight, but the water is high enough that the tree can't really sag all that far. At least it hasn't broken yet?
Despite everything, he'll offer a strained smile to anybody who happens to pass by.]
