State of the Game
Hello again, islanders, and welcome newcomers! You've arrived on the cusp of some brand new developments in terms of plot and exploration both! Islanders last month were given the opportunity to vote for whichever destination they wanted to travel to next, and the decision boiled down to an island that contains civilization. You can read up on the brand new island of Ai'tuoh over HERE!

We've loved the feedback we've gotten about the game thus far, positive and negative, and encourage you to contact us whenever you feel it is necessary!

Our intro log will be going up on the comms on March 4th. Until then, a few quick points:

1. Deaths. Remember that, in the event that your character perishes, to let us know so that we can take a note of it, whether or not it counts for your character's total death count! If you're having trouble thinking of a penalty, we can definitely provide one for you. Remember to use the Deaths page for Death Penalty removal as well, once that time is up!

2. AC. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind people to tag their characters in the comms. This is the only compulsory form of AC we have, but after the first few months, we are going to stop warning people for forgetting to tag their character. Characters who fail AC will be swept. An additional reminder, also, to make use of the drop post should your time with LifeAftr come at an end instead of simply idling out; it helps us out a lot!

3. Drops. Sometimes games don't click, or RL takes precedence, and that's fine! In those cases, we would vastly prefer it if you used the drop post instead of idling out of the game, as LifeAftr's AC system means it will take up to two months for you to be removed from the comms.

In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an OOC intro and CR meme for the month of March - for new players to introduce themselves, for old players to meet and greet, and for general plotting to occur! If you want to chat or keep up with game updates, we also have both a plurk and a discord channel!

Tell us about them:

TIM is a CRAU, a chain-smoker, a depressed boy, and is in the process of unwittingly adopting a great deal of children. He's chock-full of mental health shit so feel free to give his opt-out/permissions post a poke if you're like "uh zero what the fuck is this". He's bizarrely adjusted in some ways and shoveling himself deeper in his own shit in others, but he's doing his best to be like, slightly more organized as a person than he has in the past. Last month he got in touch with his inner "let me help people" and tried to do some nice stuff for the kids and people around the island which is weird because this is maybe the first time he willingly did something nice just for the hell of it. Look at that he's growing.

THE DRIFTER is a silent, blue-skinned wanderer who communicates via sign language and/or a little bobbing sprite thing that hovers by their shoulder and projects text. They're suffering from an incurable terminal illness and learning what it is to live in a world where people Aren't Fantasy Racist. They're just a good bean.

GABE is a walking spoiler and a tiny baby who looks like he's seventeen years old but is in actuality something like eighteen months and behaves about as maturely as you'd expect. Routinely mocking, frequently cruel, and still adapting to what it is to live in a body made of flesh and blood. He has no conceptualization of his limits while constantly trying to push into those of others. He has a 95% chance of latching onto literally anyone he comes across so that he can either a) harass them nonstop or b) project his weird idea of what a family should be like onto them. He's actually learning to be like, in a mortal human body now, so that's nice I guess.

Current plans:

TIM is likely to try and fit in with the populace of Ai'tuoh in the interest of not causing a scene but he's also liable to fail if he catches someone he knows getting on the wrong side of the law, because he'll want to intervene and that will probably go...Bad. He has the cautious instinct going for him but his desire to Help The People He Gets Attached To is likely to bite him in the ass.

THE DRIFTER is...fucked. They're fucked. They're used to being fucked thanks to fantasy racists giving them a hard time in their universe, but their clothing is too bright and they carry too many weapons anD THEY COMMUNICATE VIA WRITTEN TEXT SO. yeah. theyre Fucked pretty much immediately. whoops. who wants to be jail buddies.

GABE is........shoCKINGLY AND HORRIFYINGLY the most likely of my trio to last the longest??? god this is awful. as long as he cuts off his pockets or stitches them shut he'll make it through fine. thanks to the Shit that january shoveled on him he's way less likely to make a scene just for the hell of it than he was in the past. He might even be encouraged to raise a little ruckus and steal shit because he's probably not gonna like these people too much lmao
