Casey here with the monthly trading post! Sorry for missing last month, but we were all dying of flowers so it's fine, probably. For those that are new, this post is mainly meant to be used as an OOC way to make IC trades and arrangements without necessarily having to thread them out! Below are comments for trading and offered services, search parties, community projects, and player-maintained establishments! Feel free to post things your character has been working on, or ideas that you've come up with and want to see how well it will be received!

TRADING AND OFFERED SERVICES

Inventory: not looking to trade out his existing inventory, but see below:
Services: Laurent is an adept hunter and.... decent... at foraging stuff! He can get you:
- Meat
- Fur, teeth/bones, whatever else you can get off an animal
- Aloe Vera (he has some plants, but not much)
- Connections to Ignis Scientia (a cook, and the island's most reputable stranger-feeder.)

If you're a newcomer and starving, he'll hook you up.

Looking for: Laurent is generally always looking for tools or items requiring some crafting complexity- furniture, utensils, bags/baskets, rope, etc. He'll take a look at anything with some value though.

On another note, Lup's recently introduced him to the wonders of Magic so if you have the means to teach him more spells....... owo

Inventory: less inventory and more services
Services:
Gladio has a million things he can do BUT in exchange for assistance he will mainly be offering BEDS.

Beds are singles built primarily of bamboo that is bound with sinew while all of the above is still fresh and wet. As it dries over time it becomes stronger, tighter, and more durable. Mattresses are canvas ticking bags that will need to be refilled with fresh dried plant material semi-regularly. As it breaks down it will lose volume and if it gets wet it will need to be changed out to avoid molding. If someone has enough bludrocs for feathers or another kind of fur that would work as well.

Looking for:
Assistance with the Workshop and fixing up the Temple for Tory. Beds take time so it's something he has to take time away from all his other tasks to do. So you will probably be running and collecting supplies while he's working on it. Possibly even feeding the f'rshaymes.

Character: Nari Nishitani here!
Inventory:
- Pigeon eggs
- Handmade bandages that can be cut to various sizes
- Salves made from local flora for wounds
- Basic herbal remedies

Services: Nari has survivalist training, can hunt, is a trained medic, can cook, and can use elemental abilities to help with projects

Looking for: She's looking for someone to gather plants for her! She has a survival guide and can dog ear the pages with what she needs. Also willing to cook for whoever does this is they don't want what she has to trade.

LIGHTHOUSE WORKSHOP - Roof Raising!! /o/

There've been a lot of people that have volunteered to help Gladio finish out the lighthouse. The goal is to have that done this month so starting in October his focus can be 100% on the Bathhouse mission.

Primary thing to finish is the roof which is going to be a metric fuckton of tiles. Gladio is going to be pushing to try to get this done before the new island shows up because... they should eat everything, they really should.

How would y'all feel about This weekend (9/8 & 9/9) for the final push to finish out the roof? As this is likely to be a bit of a clusterfuck I figured it would be something we could handwave the details of it and just hash out the gist of things chat/plurk/whatever if that's cool with everyone.

People that I know were interested in being involved in the building thing:

PLAYER-MAINTAINED ESTABLISHMENTS AND RESOURCES

Showers and filters

In addition to the shower and water filter on Isle #1 Gladio has spent the last week or so building a second set on Isle #5



Simple bamboo structures. The showers tend to be roughly 50/50 salt water and freshwater. The filters have a number of layers for the water from the river to sift through before coming out the bottom infinitely cleaner. Gladio is always looking for people willing to help with water collection by means of a large rain barrel full of river water daily.

Is he looking for someone to fill the barrel or transport it when it's full?

He's got a wheelbarrow it can go in it's just... time consuming tromping out to the river then back to the isles 2-4 times a day on top of everything else he's working on.

Sadly he knows there's not a lot of people that could actually lift the damn thing once it's full even just to get it into the wheelbarrow

Sadly, I don't see Jules moving the barrel. Too many people would see him doing it. He's the type of guy who does thing anonymously and makes sure nobody knows he's doing them (or would even consider that he was the person doing them). Filling the barrels he could pull off, but not moving them.

The barrel sits outside by the filter on Isle 1 if he'd be inclined to do it at night and for people to just be like "oh.. huh I guess we didn't use that much yesterday"

he's got so much going on he will honestly not realize how long it's been since *he* filled it for like a week lmao

That would definitely work! He would do it regularly too, unless there were too many people around and they might notice. :)

Magically refilling water... what...?!

Eventually Gladio will just start leaving snacks out with the barrel for whoever is doing this work and saving him so much time in the mornings. Bags of jerky or pan breads or something.

Which is super sweet, though they'll never be taken. Jules is highly paranoid and will never eat anything he hasn't made himself. Even natural ingredients are poison tested.
