NUIDAN: TASKS & CLAIMS

The Rundown: Active and Passive Tasks
Not to step on the Storyteller's toes, Harv's brand of assistance comes in the form of Tasks that, once completed, will unlock improvements to the islets and other living areas on Enso. The tasks characters may be involved with come in two flavors; Passive or Active:

Passive Tasks are most likely to occur due to meeting a prerequisite task incidentally, such as searching a number of squares on Nuidan, or accomplishing a certain amount of active tasks. These tasks cannot be claimed. Instead, everyone's actions will play a role in meeting the requirements for rewards in this area - some of which may be unlocked at a later date.

Active Tasks require IC action, which may involve foraging, harvesting, cooking, repairing, construction, or more! Using the form below, characters can ICly opt to take on these quests; though when taking up a task, keep the following details in mind:

[ ♆ ] Limitations: A character may only work on one Active Task at a time. The amount of IC days required to complete said task will be RNG'd. So, for example, if your character picks up a five day task on the 3rd, you won't be able to pick up another task for them until the 8th!

[ ♆ ] Requirements: We will require at least one thread showing your character in the midst of this task. A single thread providing a glimpse into this work is perfectly serviceable, and there will be no requirement to write each task out from start to end. Instead, consider each task to be a log or top-level prompt.

[ ♆ ] Difficulty: Task difficulty is based on how many days, minimum, the task will take to accomplish. More difficult tasks will take longer to accomplish, even in a group.

[ ♆ ] Timing: As mentioned above, the amount of time a task will take to complete will be decided via RNG. However, teaming up with others will reduce the maximum amount of time that task will require. A task that may take one person five days to accomplish may easily be managed by five people in two. If working in a team, make sure to note any characters with which you'll be working. If you do not, they cannot affect the RNG.

Lastly, this post will be linked to both the Search Requests and Locations page for reference, so don't fret that you'll lose the link!

The group or character that signs up for the task will be responsible for deciding where on Ensō they would like their reward to be placed, so bear that in mind!

Interested in a particular reward or establishment not mentioned? Characters are free to request certain goods or buildings in return for a quest in need of fulfilling; a form has been included below! This list is not set in stone. More tasks will be added as required, so don't worry if you don't immediately get something you had your eye on! If you'd like to participate but are concerned that your character may be physically unable to accomplish any of the above tasks, we are happy to work with you to come up with a solution!

If there is a Task you think could be plausibly accomplished in exchange for something your character would like to establish, let us know here! Bear in mind that we might have to discuss logistics to manage what may or may not be plausible. If you have questions about what kind of rewards are and are not possible, please ask us on our Questions and Concerns thread above!

Proposed Task: Is there something your character is willing to do that isn't listed, or something already listed that they're willing to do more of to some end?

Proposed Reward: Is there something your character personally would like to try and establish on Ensō? A bakery, an apothecary, an infirmary, a blacksmith, a carpentry, a refinery, or just plain a way to fix up all the abandoned buildings lying around? This can be as simple or as complicated as you like, but bear in mind that the more moving parts involved, the more work the task will require on their end.

HAYOOO so I def wanna get Beau and Krav involved, here's some of the stuff they're good at/what might get 'em out and about:

Kravitz: He's got a bunch of physical strength, though it's more dexterity than brute force. He's not gonna really want to do a lot of this at first because he got pretty fuckin burned by the last island, but can be convinced if CR comes looking for him. He also doesn't know how to do a lot of this. That said, he literally comes with his own scythe and is great at cutting shit with it, so somebody should call his ass for those field harvests.

Beau: Beau grew up doing hard labor at her parent's wine vineyard! So she is pretty good at harvesting fruit and just doing weird ass tasks. That said, she's gonna have to be convinced she wants to do this vs someone telling her to, because she's awfully against being told what to do. She is getting bored out of her teeth after having only been here for five days though, so she'd probably want to get involved only if she knows she's getting something out of it. She'd also be most interested to explore, so I'd love to get her on at least one of those exploration tasks!!

hey friends! ann here is new to the island but she loves animals and also wants to help out as much as she can, so! she's pretty good at heavy lifting and physical labor (though she'll probably complain about being tired), and if anyone's willing to teach her some of the other necessary skills such as doing repairs and harvesting, she can help out with those as well. as ann is new to LA, i'm really excited to throw her at whoever!

Lillie will be available to help with any light physical work or gardening, especially now that she has clothing more suited to the task. Anyone interested in the greenhouse task specifically should contact me, because while she can't tackle that alone I think it's something she would be glad to work with others on doing. She will also gladly accompany any established CR on searches, should they ask.

Dogmeat can't exactly do much in the way of work but will be available as a search companion at all times. He can generally be found by the mana pool in the Storyteller's temple, ICly, or you can hit me up and we can decide how they bump into each other. If you need help herding animals he may be of use there, as well.

Yo. So as seen Keith would set right to work. I want to get him pretty involved in things. He was burned by the last island but won’t let that stop him if it really can do things for the group.

He’s aiming to start with something he can do well. Digging ditches and maintaining them. He’ll take anyone who wants to go for it and instruct on proper digging.

In general he’s a pretty physical guy that can lend himself well to any task or search. He’s going to try to stay busy every day. So he won’t be that difficult to convince to come out and work. Hit me up to plot! I’ll finalize the ditch crew once we have a total of five.

Laurent is going to explore the spring quadrant first- I'm open to search req offers for him to tag along!

Task-wise, he's (I'm) interested in the animal herding task. Tentatively he may be grouped with Gladio and whoever else approaches us, I guess. I'll look around for more tasks after I sort this one out, I think!

Héctor is not really able to do much beyond light physical work, as he's not very well remembered and so not very healthy. He's pretty darn determined to help out, though, and he's hoping to get some corn harvested. He'd be happy to have help and company, whether he knows your character well or not, because he is basically a giant bony puppy. Hit me up here to plot.

Mira will be around; she can help with a lot of the gardening, especially! The largest task she'll be tackling is the greenhouse with Asgore and possibly others, but I'm down for her tagging along on other tasks. Animal herding might be good, too, considering she has a corgi. Aside from that, I'm cool with having her join search requests!

Akechi will be helping with, at least, processing materials for compost and fertilizer with Ann and Pidge, I believe. Other than that, he's a noodley city boy with little physical labor experience. But please take him on search requests to the summer quadrants. He must suffer.

Shion has very little knowledge when it comes to any of these things but if anyone wants to task team mate who will try really hard then Shion will gladly help!

To start with he going to be herding animals with Gladio, Laurent and Dogmeat but going forwards he will help with anything!

He is also very up for search requests and having people to search with would be great!

Both the Knight and Papyrus are available to tag along on search requests and activities (the knight will be helping with honey harvesting and papyrus will be helping hector with C O R N at first but other than that they're available)! TAKE EM ALONG WHEREVER THEY BOTH WANT TO BE SUPER SUPER BUSY especially after last month's flower hell event

Ray doesn't have much agricultural know-how, but she's going to be doing her best--she needs a distraction after last month.

She's in pretty good shape and is a quick learner, so she'll be willing to help out anyone, though she'll need a lot of guidance for tougher, more skilled tasks. She'll be doing a task with Ren, but other than that, I'm open!

TIM wants to set up a carpenter place if possible, so if anyone is interested in that let me know! He'd also be interested in improving Denny in some way, so that'll be a potential task maybe?? god idk i'm spitballing here. He's not like, fuckin stacked or anything but he's got an interest in physical tasks and the like!

DRIFTER has no particular goals in mind and will be happy to tag along with whoever! they're super not very physically strong but theyre very fast and also just generally have a very devoted work ethic. i think theyre set to help the bug crew with bees for a bit but after that theyre wide open especially for searches!

WASH is probably in theory pretty good at doing physical labor but doesn't have a particular proclivity toward it. he'll be happy enough to do physical tasks but like the drifter is more liable to stick to exploring. doesn't mind tasks that require more dangerous shit like herding animals and stuff probably.

Hmmm...Newt is just...generally not good at physical labor. He gets bored really easily and would probably end up getting distracted by something cool he found or whatnot. He's a lab guy. That being said, if he can be talked into it, he'd probably be up for it. But honestly he's probably best up for exploring. I'd love to get him dragged into a couple if not several search efforts, because that seems more his forte.

Dogo will most likely be getting himself into trouble, since he’s a wild dog who will want a tasty bite of that livestock. He can be pretty easily dealt with but he might be a nuisance anyway. Though he can be tricked into being a herd dog.

Also he’s gonna stick his nose into that beehive tbh.

Since for ONCE fire isn't the solution to all our problems here, Lup will probably not be super active. She'll be there to watch some buff ladies do the heavy lifting, otherwise miss her with that physical labor shit.

However, she undoubtedly will think harvesting the orchard with a small magical hurricane would be a rad idea! Somebody please stop her.

She'll also be up for explorations, of course.

HEY HELLO so I am new and this is my first monthly event...thing, so sorry for popping in late - brain felt like mush all day, you know how it is. ANYway.

Anthy will be all over checking out this new and exciting place because look at all the ANIMALS. She can help maintain care for livestock and would be more than happy to help harvest any kind of crop should you need another set of hands for a task. She's not really physically strong, but is used to doing a lot of daily chore kind of tasks and would likely appreciate the work as a way to more comfortably meet other people. After all, farming is big work!

Finally rolls in here after dorm move-in WHOOPS

Fortunately both my guys are very willing to help out with work!! Erika would be particularly interested in corralling animals because it sounds like fun, but would be willing to do basically whatever people need more hands on (likely with some complaining about it being boring if it's one of the easier tasks).

Ginko loves to do boring things, frankly, ranging from ditch digging to harvesting to processing materials. He's up for whatever!

Both of them are pretty strong, so they can definitely do physically taxing work.

So Lucas is built like a spaghetti noodle and won't be terribly useful when it comes to physical labour, but he's good at more fiddly, technical stuff like repairing things, and doing maintenance. I'm also down for him exploring! Dude needs some distractions to keep him busy.

Pyrrha is here to do... basically whatever you might need, because she's Like That. Probably not the more technical things, but physical labor is one of her strong suits. So she'll be around to help with fence repair and maintenance, and she'll be happy to lend a hand to anyone that needs it.

She'd also love to try helping with the animal tasks because it sounds nice!! Results may vary though.
