Player: Zee Character/Username: The Guardian / smallkindness Prior to coming to LifeAftr, what is an aspect of your character that they struggled with - be it a shortcoming, a fear, a bad habit, or eccentricity? The death of their family. That loss was one of their main motivations in beginning their journey but they never acknowledge it until their death and only to the Drifter.
What do they struggle with now? Is it the same as the above? Yes, but as they arrived in LifeAftr after they died, they are struggling somewhat with being alive again. What does one do when they were alive, died and are alive again in a completely different world? They will eventually run out of things to do and hit the "And now what?" wall.
What personal demons, specifically, haunt your character from canon or from past game experiences? For the Guardian it would be both their own recent death and the death of their family. While they are at ease somewhat with the former, the latter is something they have never allowed themself to mourn properly and this was made more obvious during the Ghost event when the Guardian's child appeared during the first half of the event. They chose to focus on others rather then themself, admitting only to the Drifter who they were seeing, and rather then acknowledging the loss that still scared their heart....they ignored it. Being terrible at small talk was better then speaking of that hurt.
Their own death has left them questioning on the odd occasion if they truly are "alive" in LifeAftr and the combination of Judgement's usual hallucinations/nightmares and the Ghost event has called it into question a little more. But as with the loss of their family, the Guardian remains unwilling to acknowledge this.
What is the type of person your character hopes to become? The Guardian intents to continue on as always so they do not hope for any particular changes.
What is the type of person you hope your character will become? Someone who is more open with others with how they feel, even if it is just a little at a time. That they finally allow themself to mourn the loss of their family to illness and to grow from it, eventually moving on.
Do any of the Seven Deadly Sins or Virtues stand out as applicable to your character? Why?
Kindness: The most prominent trait of the Guardian is that they are kind in a world that is not often kind in return. They choose to help the Drifter when they fall unconscious when the Guardian does not have to and continue to offer help out of the kindness of their heart. The world may be a harsh place but that does not mean they have to be.
Diligence: As a drifter the Guardian is no stranger to knuckling down and getting the work they have set out for themself done. This has also lead the Guardian to adapt a firm sense of determination strong enough to hold on as they're dying until the Drifter meets them for the last time. They still have help they wish to pass on, so Judgement and its sickness can damn well wait.
Wrath: The life of a drifter is one of violence and the Guardian is not unfamiliar with using their strength to solve problems as needed. While they will not attack someone merely for the fun of it, if violence is required during the situation at hand then so be it.
