Returning Island: Monsun
RETURNING ISLAND: MONSUN

After those rather pointed messages demanding your assistance, adventurers will, perhaps, be unsurprised to find themselves welcomed back to the shores of Monsun - again, or perhaps for the very first time. Access to Monsun will be available through the mana pools from January 10th and onward. Though we feel it prudent to forewarn you, adventurers…
Much has changed since you last visited this land.
Transportation
The mana pool uncovered on the E3 square is still present, should the characters choose to arrive via that method. In addition, characters are free to sail there on their own, if they so choose. Unfortunately, the mana pool that was placed on C3 seems to no longer be accessible.
Drag Me Into Place
To recap, June 2018 saw Monsun being utilized as a safe haven for the creatures previously native to Ziziphus - an island that, after the death of its avatar, crumbled into the sea. Unfortunately, the arrival of so many new lifeforms has created quite the imbalance, one which the landscape of Monsun has rapidly and drastically over- and under-compensated for in equal measure.
In short, it's liable to look a good deal more distorted than you remember. A map that looked like this when you last left it...

Exploration of squares now unrecognizable from their original descriptions will be required. But, on the plus side, any resources previously assumed lost on Ziziphus might now potentially be recovered. Keep in mind that the benefits, as always, are balanced out by potential pitfalls. With great reward comes great catastrophe, so be prepared for trouble - and double your chances of survival by working in a team.
In addition, Monsun's original effects on the personality will still come into play for those who venture to its shores. To the east, characters will find the island's general habitat to be much more hospitable, though their worst personality traits will quickly take the forefront. By contrast, the west is predominantly wasteland; the harsh environment tempered by the gradual amplification of your character's best qualities. For a more detailed outline, please refer to the island's rundown on our locations page.
Lock the Fire Escapes
Of course, you aren't here to go exploring. Within their temple, the avatar of Balance waits patiently for those willing to reach out a helping hand.
Those who wish to speak with the avatar of this island will find a toplevel for Balance for this month's exploration log for Monsun. This may prove to be a beneficial action to take, as characters will have an opportunity to glean information on this month's event prior to the full OOC announcement on January 17th.
As always, we'll have a thread for questions and comments, and we encourage you to make use of our Mod Contact page for private correspondence!
