Additional Information Regarding Compulsory AC

Hello again, our wonderful adventurers! As we begin our second background AC check, we felt it worth dropping a line to you all and clarifying just how compulsory AC works, to ensure that any follow ups that may occur in future are understood. As per our FAQ, our compulsory AC involves the following:
  • A background check conducted by the mods of activity made with characters throughout the month; this check will always occur from the 20th to the end of the month.
  • This check relies upon characters to be tagged into the logs they've participated in; if you know you have a log or two about the place that might not have your character's tag, remember- they won't count towards AC!
  • LifeAftr's AC utilizes a two-strike system; two strikes, and your character will be swept without further notice. A warning list will be placed up at the end of the compulsory AC period to advise of any strikes that have been received.
  • Strikes are cleared so long as AC is met the month following. Characters who are placed on hiatus for two weeks or more, or extenuating circumstances have been involved (such as Irma), will automatically pass AC.
  • Our compulsory Activity Check is intended to be conducted in the background, out of sight and out of mind. The amount of tags a character is capable of making throughout the month does not reflect upon your overall activity, however, the mods will follow up with players should the following issues arise as a trending issue with activity:
  • A large amount of threads dropped within a very short amount of time, or not responded to at all.
  • "Clique-like" behavior; where it is noted that characters consistently thread with very few characters only.
  • Multiple strikes or warnings due to not tagging characters into logs they have taken part in.
  • If any the above are noted as being a continuous issue over a period of 2-3 Activity Checks, the mods may then place further restrictions on an individual's AC. This may include a request to see a reduction in the amount of dropped threads, or a caveat for your character to have at least one to two threads outside of their usual circle to make AC for the next round.

Our main intention in conducting AC in this manner is to ensure that people are less concerned with the amount of tags that they are making, which allows everyone to take part in LifeAftr at their own pace. If at any point we feel it necessary to follow up with a player, it will be done with a clear history of why we have concerns, including links to activity that exemplifies why we have felt the need to bring this into discussion.

Again, thank you all for joining us in LifeAftr- and for the wonderful community you've established together! We hope that this provides some insight going forward- and should you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don't hesitate to respond to us below, or contact us directly.

I haven't been too active for which I'm sorry. I joined then Irma took all my attention. That's not going to cause any problems, is it?

Cool. There shouldn't be any more problems. Thankfully, Maria seems like she is not going to hit Florida. But who knows. I'll keep you updated with any changes!
