New Island: Nastrandir

NEW ISLAND: NASTRANDIR
The last island available in the latest voting round was one symbolized by crimson flames and a crowd of people in evident worship to some looping, many-coiled shape in the sky above. Come August 4th, this island will surface on the archipelago of LifeAftr.

Transportation
Via dream, the Storyteller will inform travelers that, as of August 4th, they may travel via mana pool to the new island. As usual, they can guarantee that, at least in regards to the area in the immediate vicinity of the mana pool, there seems to be no immediate danger if one wishes to arrive by that method.

The mana pool is located at A4, should characters elect to use it. In addition, characters are free to sail there on their own, if they so choose.

Lastly, the Storyteller is certain to impart the name of the newest island:

NASTRANDIR has now been added to the Locations page.

Newcomers will be arriving on this island. Thus, adventurers new and old are free to use this month's Intro Log as an exploration catch-all!

We Lit the Fire
Unlike Io, this island is large enough that it will warrant exploration on the travelers' parts to discern what may be present. The only thing that is evident from the start is the fact that, similarly to the island of Cahypdo, a not insignificant amount of Nastrandir appears to be rather mountainous and craggy, though there is also a vast swathe of muggy, boggy wetlands fenced in by the mountains. It's not known if these spaces are inhabited, or what the flora and fauna might look like.
There is a little more information on the broad strokes of each region on Nastrandir's entry on our Locations page. Most notably, there are some rather large mountains to the east, as well as the presence of several ruined buildings in the northern and southern regions. And in the midst of all of it, an awful lot of things that might want to kill you.

If this island has an avatar, or any sentient beings of note, you'll have to track them down for yourself. And try not to sink in any quicksand, will you? Given the swampy environment, that's a particularly high risk.

As always, we'll have a thread for questions and comments, and we encourage you to make use of our Mod Contact page for private correspondence!
