MONTHLY RUNDOWN: APRIL

In March, the Storyteller and the Water put their differences aside. Their shared grief and mourning brought back to our shores the island of Ai'tuoh, and with it, a great deal of revelations as to what kinds of effects you adventurers had on the denizens of that land.

Important Note: For the duration of March, we have elected to WAIVE AC REQUIREMENTS given the global state of affairs. Our usual Activity Check will not be conducted.

Major Events
Throughout the month of April, you can expect the following to occur:

EVENT NAME: BREAKING BARRIERS
WHERE: ALL ISLANDS
WHEN: APRIL 3RD - APRIL 19TH

In months gone by, familiar places that travelers had visited before were brought back to the shores of your island home. This month, however, the Water is drawing forth an island that none of you have yet encountered - the mysterious island of Elytlan.
To do so, they will once again require your help. This time, however, the results may be both more and less welcomed than what explorers might expect - for the rites required to bring Elytlan close rather transcend even the normal rules of what you've come to expect in this world.

Come April 3rd, we'll have an Undercurrent Event log up to let you all know what you'll be doing to help bring this island to Ensō's shores.

EVENT NAME: THE SHORES OF ELYTLAN
WHERE: ELYTLAN
WHEN: APRIL 20TH - ONWARD

Come April 20th, the island of Elytlan will be available to visit. A place where moments and memories are left frozen in time, where the shadows of past lives flit through pale meadows, Elytlan is a strange and quiet place. And though you may not remember it, it may certainly remember you...

There will be an island return log on this date in which you can read up on the details of this new island and what you might do there. You can anticipate the island remaining in the archipelago after the month of April, and for perhaps longer...so you don't need to worry about rushing to check it out right away, if you're too preoccupied!

EVENT NAME: AN ARRIVAL
WHERE: OFF THE SHORES OF ENSŌ
WHEN: APRIL 30TH

The 'island' looming in the distance has finally arrived at Enso's shores, and in doing so has been revealed as not to be an island at all - but another living being. A powerful NPC, one that has been kept quiet for far too long.

Their name, motives, thoughts, and history will finally come to light when they make landfall. But don't fret. All will be revealed in time. There is so little of it left, after all.

Minor Events
There's a lot going on in the background of the archipelago, as well - on the islands, and even on the islets, the coming month will see certain goings-on cropping up, here and there. These events will not be getting their own logs, unless you wish to include them in the event log that will be posted at the beginning of the month; you may interact with any number of them at your leisure, or not at all!

EVENT NAME: MAKE LIBATIONS
WHERE: NUIDAN
WHEN: APRIL 1ST - APRIL 10TH

Nuidan has begun to flourish with activity this month. Far from being an ill omen, however, Nuidan's bounty has begun to overflow once again, seemingly in anticipation of the island to come.

Vast quantities of food and drink, primarily aromatic and flowery in appearance, will be provided for those willing to partake in an offering feast to prepare explorers for Elytlan's arrival. These elaborate meals can be consumed or burned to similar effect: those who take advantage of these meals to their heart's content will find that, though memories of those they miss will be clear in their minds, grief and sorrow will have less power over them - for a time.

EVENT NAME: ISN'T IT DREAMY?
WHERE: ALL ISLANDS
WHEN: APRIL 12TH - APRIL 21ST

Due to recent events, explorers both old and new may find that even the things that appear in their dreams aren't quite where they used to be. The fabric of Mu has become awfully fragile, awfully strained, with all the islands and old memories that have been stirred up lately, and it's about ready to burst.

From April 12th to April 21st, the products of people's minds - anything from items to animals - will develop an alarming habit of simply falling out of people's dreams entirely. Nothing sentient will manage to breach the barrier between waking and dreaming, but various objects and creatures that you might ordinarily find in your dreams may abruptly manifest nearby upon waking.

While not many of these things will be particularly usable - and for creatures, not particularly bright - they may offer some small comfort, or distraction, during this trying time. The most solid of these phantasms tend to disperse within twenty-four hours or less, so hold onto those memories while you can.

EVENT NAME: GOT YOUR GOAT
WHERE: ENSŌ
WHEN: APRIL 22ND - APRIL 30TH

While the Spanish Plated Goat is normally only exclusive to the rocky islands of Maati, a few seem to have made their way to the rich, tropical landscape of Ensō through some way or another. Perhaps due to the tenuous state of Mu, of late...

Regardless, the lush jungle environment of Enso and ambient socialization from watching island residents go about their business have produced a new variant of plated goat that is both less prone to spontaneous fire-starting and far less skittish around people. The children of these offspring are still finding their legs, and so you may see scaled, fuzzy kids wobbling around, poking their noses quite curiously into your business. Be sure to hide anything flammable; if adequately startled, these creatures can still spray the occasional spark.

These kids can be tamed and potentially domesticated quite easily, provided you don't spook them too badly...and provided you make sure to do this away from the protective eyes of their parents, who will certainly have no trouble chasing you down if they perceive you as a threat.
