OOC INTRO: JUNE

State of the Game
...now, now. Don't look at us like that. We know that at least some of you were happy to see the end of Bliss.

Welcome, new arrivals, and hello again to the oldcomers! May sure was a busy month for all of us, wasn't it? Between exploring an island, fighting some sentient plants, and killing a god, you islanders have been awfully busy. The island of Ziziphus won't be around for much longer, we're sorry to say - but we still do recommend that newcomers read up on said island on either the locations page or its introduction post, so they have some context for the intro log!

We've loved the feedback we've gotten about the game thus far, positive and negative, and encourage you to contact us whenever you feel it is necessary!

Our intro log will be going up on the comms on June 4th. Until then, a few quick points:

1. Deaths. Remember that, in the event that your character perishes, to let us know so that we can take a note of it, whether or not it counts for your character's total death count! If you're having trouble thinking of a penalty, we can definitely provide one for you. Remember to use the Deaths page for Death Penalty removal as well, once that time is up!

2. AC. As of last month, we've officially switched to the ACSavior tool! This means that, while we no longer require that you tag your characters in the comms to have your AC counted, we strongly recommend it for housekeeping purposes! Characters who fail AC will be swept. We will also be following up with players who are getting consistent strikes or regularly passing with the bare minimum. An additional reminder, also, to make use of the drop post should your time with LifeAftr come at an end instead of simply idling out; it helps us out a lot!

3. Setting Changes. As we mentioned earlier, Ziziphus won't be around for very much longer - the god that lived there certainly lived there, to a very, er, "in-depth" extent. For those who were with us back in December, you'll be seeing a very familiar shape on the horizon, come this month's intro...

In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an OOC intro and CR meme for the month of June - for new players to introduce themselves, for old players to meet and greet, and for general plotting to occur! If you want to chat or keep up with game updates, we also have both a plurk and a discord channel!

Considering the Knight didn't grow a second head and try eating him within the first few minutes of their first meeting, I'd say they're under his 'weird but good so far' radar! So the Hunter would be cool with a joint exploration with the Knight :D

Tell us about them:

Edward Elric is CRAU from Ryslig, and so has been transformed into a hairy goat-man with bat wings and a bigger chip on his shoulder than usual. Thanks to the Storyteller he no longer has that horrible horror-game cannibalism going on, but his temper and general suspicion of non-monsters still remains. He's overall a fairly friendly guy and willing to help out people in need, but he has little patience for bullshit and is easily riled up. He's recently regained some use fo his alchemy, so in addition to having plenty of muscle to spare he can craft relatively simple objects so long as the chemical components of the final product are at hand. He has been looking after the farm on Enso E6, as well as keeping a coop of Bludroc near his hut with Ginko.

Chip Abaroa is a norman ten-year-old, aside from the whole 'part demon with a terrifying werehyena aunt' bit. They're simultaneously energetic and withdrawn, the trauma of previous abuse still showing it's mark on them. Their demonic heritage grants them a few unique abilities, but mostly it just served to fuel a nasty temper that can have them launching into impulsive action or wild self-hatred. They try very hard to be a good kid, but...sometimes the deck can be stacked against them.

Current plans:

Edward needs get more into exploring, and just generally making more contact with people--he's turned into a fucking recluse and that's no damn fun for anyone.

Chip is going to have a pretty rough month with the arrival of their oh-so-favorite castmate Foster to the game. (They hate and fear him. What cruel god decided to make FOSTER into a FAE????) Anyone that would like to figure out what this child is screeching about or just wants to make a small and emotionally unstable friend is welcome!
