OOC INTRO: FEBRUARY

State of the Game
Welcome, newcomers, and hello again to the oldcomers! Last month saw adventurers being unwittingly conscripted into helping the Avatar of Balance do some much-needed re-balancing of their island, thrown off-kilter as it was. After the chaos of Shadows, Lights, and Rejection Rooms, you probably need a few days to rest and recuperate...and maybe mend whatever shattered bridges may have arisen between you and your CR...but Balance, for what it's worth, is incredibly thankful for your help!

We've loved the feedback we've gotten about the game thus far, positive and negative, and encourage you to contact us whenever you feel it is necessary!

Our intro log will be going up on the comms on February 4th. Until then, a few quick points:

1. Monsun. The island of Monsun is not only still in the archipelago, but will be very relevant come this month's intro log. It is recommended that new players read up on the island's information, so that they are appraised come said intro!

2. February Event. The Storyteller was diligent as ever in allowing you to vote for your next island location. In the process of said voting, it seems that you all made your thoughts on going anywhere new this month...quite clear. Thus, there will be no new island this month, though there will be an event mid-month to make up for it! Voting will re-resume next month.

In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an OOC intro and CR meme for the month of February - for new players to introduce themselves, for old players to meet and greet, and for general plotting to occur! If you want to chat or keep up with game updates, we also have both a plurk and a discord channel!

Permissions: Here! Eska has some empathic abilities which may involve mind reading or calming, so I'd appreciate if you scoped it out!

Tell us about them: Eska is a D&D character! They're a Way of Empathy Monk, which means their hobbies include punching things REAL good, spreading tranquility and kindness, and healing others by hacking their own HP off like it's going out of style. They're also a tortle, which means they're a human-sized, bipedal... turtle. Yeah. They also believe VERY much in the healing power of meeting others with sincere, open acceptance and compassion. Being accepted as your flawed, imperfect, trying-your-best self with no strings attached is a concept that they hold very dear, so be prepared for a whole lot of friendship and encouragement right from square one.

Current plans: OH GOD I JUST GOT HERE WHERE AM I IS THAT A STARBUCKS. I really just need Eska to establish some CR! They also don't mind sleeping rough and just kinda wandering wherever whimsy takes them, but I wouldn't mind figuring out a housing arrangement eventually. More importantly than that, though: it sounds like y'all had a pretty rough January, huh? If you need someone to lend an ear (or a shoulder) (or a big splappy-ass turtle paw) and give you a little comfort after that harrowing whatever-it-was, Eska is absolutely 100% here to help people.

just throwing this out there but I would absolutely adore cr with this giant reptile

also the clinic is in dire need of not just healers but people who can kind of sort of perform counselling so eska is honestly a massive godsend if you're willing to put up with the other islanders refusing to talk about their issues
