OOC INTRO: DECEMBER
State of the Game
Hello again, islanders, and welcome newcomers! November saw the introduction of our first island outside the mainland, Monsun, which has brought tides of change both good and bad to the relationships between our player characters, between NPCs, and more! We heavily encourage newcomers to read up on the psychological effects of Monsun, as this will be relevant in the intro log. We've loved the feedback we've gotten about the game thus far, positive and negative, and encourage you to contact us whenever you feel it is necessary!
Our intro log will be going up on the comms on December 3rd. Until then, a few quick points:
1. Deaths. Remember that, in the event that your character perishes, to let us know so that we can take a note of it, whether or not it counts for your character's total death count! If you're having trouble thinking of a penalty, we can definitely provide one for you. Remember to use the Deaths page for Death Penalty removal as well, once that time is up!In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an OOC intro and CR meme for the month of December - for new players to introduce themselves, for old players to meet and greet, and for general plotting to occur! If you want to chat or keep up with game updates, we also have both a plurk and a discord channel!
2. Communication. Due to some resourcefulness and the ingenuity of our resident Severs-the-Threads player (
3. AC. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind people to tag their characters in the comms. This is the only compulsory form of AC we have, but after the first few months, we are going to stop warning people for forgetting to tag their character. Characters who fail AC will be swept. An additional reminder, also, to make use of the drop post should your time with LifeAftr come at an end instead of simply idling out!

Character: Severs-the-Threads (The Dragonborn, TES5:Skyrim) |

Tell us about them: Opportunistic, blasé lizard woman who can yell so good that it sets things on fire somehow. Runs a Thieves Guild in her free time. Slays dragons, tries not to wonder if she's a distant cousin of said dragons. Pretty easy to get along with if you've got something to barter with or just happen to be an endearing rougish underdog.
Current plans: Sev is on a roll for helping island society out lately, between establishing the message board and helping Maka and Chip find a Monsun mana pool. I'd love to keep that momentum going by opening her up to help out people who might need a little Survival 101 - she can teach archery, swordy things, stealy things, or she can put some useful enchantments on clothing/armor/jewellery/weapons. I'm super open to negative CR, too! Her habit of not taking things seriously when they maybe should be taken seriously isn't always a good thing, so I'd love to see it clashing more with the Morally Upright and Hotheaded types.

Tell us about them: Extremely Sad Goat. He's like ten years old, soulless, crushed by regrets and rejection, and Ready To Perish ayyyyy. Asriel is trying his very best to be a kind, gentle monster to anyone who needs it, but he's not as completely unlike Flowey as he wants people to think - he's very lonely and hurting, and tends to cling, project, and lash out when it gets real bad.
Current plans: hoooooo this boy needs some help CRwise. Finding out that he doesn't get to have a second chance to do better here, combined with Everyone He Ever Cared About cutting him out of their lives, has got him pretty solidly convinced he's become too horrible and empty to deserve to be around anyone. I could SUPER USE anyone who takes well to the "take a babby under your wing" kind of CR. This kid's not gonna go much farther being completely deprived of support or patience.

looks at connor, whose whole arc is "no one deserves to fade away." this is such a Bad Idea because connor is a dumpster fire but he does like. deeply care that other people not, uh. end up the way he did? and it's kind of "hey, same hat!" because connor is also here, lonely, and Ready To Just Fucking Perish.
