OOC INTRO: JANUARY

State of the Game
Hello again, islanders, and welcome newcomers! In December, the island of Chol made its debut, bringing with it dire hints as to the state of LifeAftr for the duration of January. We heavily encourage newcomers to read up on the specifics of Chol as linked above, as this will be relevant in the intro log. We've loved the feedback we've gotten about the game thus far, positive and negative, and encourage you to contact us whenever you feel it is necessary!

Our intro log will be going up on the comms on January 5th. Until then, a few quick points:

1. Deaths. Remember that, in the event that your character perishes, to let us know so that we can take a note of it, whether or not it counts for your character's total death count! If you're having trouble thinking of a penalty, we can definitely provide one for you. Remember to use the Deaths page for Death Penalty removal as well, once that time is up! An event in the latter half of January will come with a high risk of death, meaning that the span of time for death penalties will be significantly reduced

2. AC. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind people to tag their characters in the comms. This is the only compulsory form of AC we have, but after the first few months, we are going to stop warning people for forgetting to tag their character. Characters who fail AC will be swept. An additional reminder, also, to make use of the drop post should your time with LifeAftr come at an end instead of simply idling out!

3. Additional goodies. Newcomes showed up with some extra treats in their knapsacks, to better prepare them for the cold and dark days ahead. This should have been noted in everyone's acceptance notices! Please let us know if, for some reason or another, you didn't receive these particular goods.

In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an OOC intro and CR meme for the month of January - for new players to introduce themselves, for old players to meet and greet, and for general plotting to occur! If you want to chat or keep up with game updates, we also have both a plurk and a discord channel!

Tell us about yourself: Hello, I'm fresh meat! Sorta. I used to be here back in August-September with another character. I come from Finland so my timezone is gmt +2. I also use she/her

Character: Ritsuka Aoyagi. Also known as "Loveless"
Permissions: Here

Tell us about them: Ritsuka is serious but also very sweet 12 year old boy. He comes from canon that has underground spell battles, true names and fated partners. It's all confusing mess and Ritsuka is trying to find his footing there while also solving a mystery behind his brother's traumatic death.

He is pretty withdrawn kid with tons of trust issues, especially when it comes to adults. In his experience they're mostly selfish, childish and can't take care of themselves! He might come off as blunt and distant but he tries his best and is actually very nice and gentle. :)

Current plans: Since he is new here I'll be focusing on getting him started in the setting. He could definitely use friends -- Ritsuka tends to get along with various kinds of people (especially those who have questionable world views and morals). Also he might need an adult and help with getting food and housing? :(

First reactions: he's going to be upset that his phone and camera suffered a water damage! Both items are very important to him. How else is he going to take pictures (He has severe anxiety about forgetting and uses selfies pictures to keep tabs on reality). Also there's going to be culture shock and he'll be uncomfortable once he realizes that no one else seems to have cat ears and a tail.

Ichi is a terrible man who barely wants to take care of himself let alone others, and tends to be distant himself, but... he adores cats so Ritsuka might get endeared to him immediately fff

In fact, he can also sprout cat ears and a tail so YOU'RE NOT ALONE YOUNG ONE

ALTERNATIVELY Frisk (and Chara) are always on the lookout for fellow kids so they'd absolutely lend a hand too?

Awh, worry not Ichi. Ritsuka is very much used to taking care of adults when they can't look after themselves! But please do come to him with the ears on, it'll make him feel a bit more like home. Tho he's going to have mixed feelings when he finds out they're not real but!! he'll take it.
