OOC INTRO: JUNE

State of the Game
...now, now. Don't look at us like that. We know that at least some of you were happy to see the end of Bliss.

Welcome, new arrivals, and hello again to the oldcomers! May sure was a busy month for all of us, wasn't it? Between exploring an island, fighting some sentient plants, and killing a god, you islanders have been awfully busy. The island of Ziziphus won't be around for much longer, we're sorry to say - but we still do recommend that newcomers read up on said island on either the locations page or its introduction post, so they have some context for the intro log!

We've loved the feedback we've gotten about the game thus far, positive and negative, and encourage you to contact us whenever you feel it is necessary!

Our intro log will be going up on the comms on June 4th. Until then, a few quick points:

1. Deaths. Remember that, in the event that your character perishes, to let us know so that we can take a note of it, whether or not it counts for your character's total death count! If you're having trouble thinking of a penalty, we can definitely provide one for you. Remember to use the Deaths page for Death Penalty removal as well, once that time is up!

2. AC. As of last month, we've officially switched to the ACSavior tool! This means that, while we no longer require that you tag your characters in the comms to have your AC counted, we strongly recommend it for housekeeping purposes! Characters who fail AC will be swept. We will also be following up with players who are getting consistent strikes or regularly passing with the bare minimum. An additional reminder, also, to make use of the drop post should your time with LifeAftr come at an end instead of simply idling out; it helps us out a lot!

3. Setting Changes. As we mentioned earlier, Ziziphus won't be around for very much longer - the god that lived there certainly lived there, to a very, er, "in-depth" extent. For those who were with us back in December, you'll be seeing a very familiar shape on the horizon, come this month's intro...

In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an OOC intro and CR meme for the month of June - for new players to introduce themselves, for old players to meet and greet, and for general plotting to occur! If you want to chat or keep up with game updates, we also have both a plurk and a discord channel!

Tell us about them: In Rinzler's canon, all computer programs are secretly sentient life. He used to be a protag type called Tron, but was reprogrammed into the villain's best murder-slave about a thousand computer-years back. But, Rinzler's also got a couple years CRAU under his belt, which have brought him through such milestones as "deciding he's a person" and "relearning how to speak". He's not fantastic at either, and still views violence as the best (sometimes only) problem-solver.

But, progress! He also glows constantly, does backflips near-constantly, and makes a rrrrring sound everywhere he goes.

Current plans: Rinzler is shiny brand new, so he's open for any and all CR! Allies are welcome, but I also love him stirring shit. So if you want someone to pick a fight with or generally develop negative CR, I volunteer him readily. He had a few strong friendships in Thisavrou, and may try to seek out the versions of those characters here-- I'll hit people up if there's a chance of that!

And being impressed at his flippy ridiculousness is one of the best ways to get on Rinzler's not-shit-list. (This is a more noteworthy thing than it sounds.) Seeing as a love of violencing is another, I'd say they're pretty well equipped to ally!

To check—Rinzler was friends with a Shepard in his last game. (Slightly different appearance and history, though he may still mix the two of them up.) Would you be okay with him !!!ing over yours? I can minimize the mixups if you'd prefer, or have him assume they're functionally the same person—whether her scan signature matches up will make a difference in how he reacts.

I am absolutely fine with him assuming they are the same person! My Shep hasn't been introduced to the concept yet that there could be other versions of her out there and between these CRAUs and her first castmate from a different sequence of events hitting this month, she's in for a wild ride. Ngl I used to peek my head in on Savrou (which is where I think you were?) to see what that Shepard was up to so when I saw you come over here I got excited LOL

I still need to look over a few more of Rinzler and Chara's threads but honestly, I am so down for CR with these two, especially since I've really enjoyed what I've seen of your boy c:

But oh wow, yes please. I've snuck a glance or two at your threads via Zero's plurks before, and they are constantly fantastic.

As far as Rinzler's CR history goes: his thread tracker's here if you want the whole giant heap. His interactions with Zero's Chara show up around the first December (Rinzler knew another Chara before, though not as closely). General summary would be Good Murderfriends, with a few major incidents—like the time Rinzler tried to halp Chara and ended up mercy-killing them, or the time Clu mindfucked Frisk and Asriel so Everybody Had Issues. Chara's also one of two people Rinzler has ever trusted to safeguard his disk.

I can keep rambling if it'd help—let me know if you've got questions? Though I'm sure our two will end up in their own unique mess in short order.
