OOC INTRO: JUNE

State of the Game
...now, now. Don't look at us like that. We know that at least some of you were happy to see the end of Bliss.

Welcome, new arrivals, and hello again to the oldcomers! May sure was a busy month for all of us, wasn't it? Between exploring an island, fighting some sentient plants, and killing a god, you islanders have been awfully busy. The island of Ziziphus won't be around for much longer, we're sorry to say - but we still do recommend that newcomers read up on said island on either the locations page or its introduction post, so they have some context for the intro log!

We've loved the feedback we've gotten about the game thus far, positive and negative, and encourage you to contact us whenever you feel it is necessary!

Our intro log will be going up on the comms on June 4th. Until then, a few quick points:

1. Deaths. Remember that, in the event that your character perishes, to let us know so that we can take a note of it, whether or not it counts for your character's total death count! If you're having trouble thinking of a penalty, we can definitely provide one for you. Remember to use the Deaths page for Death Penalty removal as well, once that time is up!

2. AC. As of last month, we've officially switched to the ACSavior tool! This means that, while we no longer require that you tag your characters in the comms to have your AC counted, we strongly recommend it for housekeeping purposes! Characters who fail AC will be swept. We will also be following up with players who are getting consistent strikes or regularly passing with the bare minimum. An additional reminder, also, to make use of the drop post should your time with LifeAftr come at an end instead of simply idling out; it helps us out a lot!

3. Setting Changes. As we mentioned earlier, Ziziphus won't be around for very much longer - the god that lived there certainly lived there, to a very, er, "in-depth" extent. For those who were with us back in December, you'll be seeing a very familiar shape on the horizon, come this month's intro...

In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an OOC intro and CR meme for the month of June - for new players to introduce themselves, for old players to meet and greet, and for general plotting to occur! If you want to chat or keep up with game updates, we also have both a plurk and a discord channel!

Tell us about them: Shion was a naive elite child from a perfect city who got liberated by an overdramatic jerk, had an incident with a parasite bee which turned his hair white and his eyes red, learned about the Real World TM but before he could continue his journey of learning how everything was awful he got whisked away to a Horror Tower towerofanimus and spent two and a half years learning that... well yes everything was awful. The characters there achieved end game but instead of going home to fix things and save his friend he ended up here instead.

And here has been interesting. As it stands Shion has come to the conclusion that he is probably an awful person despite trying hard not to be and that he is dangerous and will end up hurting those he cares about. This was exasperated in the bliss attack. He is generally friendly though, can pretend to be not a messed up puppy long enough to have a decent conversation. He loves plants, is starting a garden. He will also babble forever about science if you let him.

Current plans: So most people would deal with feeling like they are probably going to end up hurting everyone by isolating themselves but not Shion. He's probably going to throw himself more into trying to help everyone more. He also believes that talking about stuff is ultimately better than not so he's going to try and talk to some people about Bliss and their dream worlds.

He and Hinata are looking to open a clinic, we will hopefully get that up and running this month

He is still investigating why there are random black holes also any other strange phenonomons... If your character wants to do Stupid Stuff for Science. This kid is all about that. An enquiring mind and an unhealthy attitude towards your own mortality or lack of it are a great combination.

Yes! Well he needs science buddies who won't tell him to not risk life and limb for science and will potentially join him in doing stupid stuff! He has Jaune down as someone to protect so he would feel real bad if Jaune got hurt which isn't to say it shouldn't happen
