OOC INTRO: JUNE

State of the Game
...now, now. Don't look at us like that. We know that at least some of you were happy to see the end of Bliss.

Welcome, new arrivals, and hello again to the oldcomers! May sure was a busy month for all of us, wasn't it? Between exploring an island, fighting some sentient plants, and killing a god, you islanders have been awfully busy. The island of Ziziphus won't be around for much longer, we're sorry to say - but we still do recommend that newcomers read up on said island on either the locations page or its introduction post, so they have some context for the intro log!

We've loved the feedback we've gotten about the game thus far, positive and negative, and encourage you to contact us whenever you feel it is necessary!

Our intro log will be going up on the comms on June 4th. Until then, a few quick points:

1. Deaths. Remember that, in the event that your character perishes, to let us know so that we can take a note of it, whether or not it counts for your character's total death count! If you're having trouble thinking of a penalty, we can definitely provide one for you. Remember to use the Deaths page for Death Penalty removal as well, once that time is up!

2. AC. As of last month, we've officially switched to the ACSavior tool! This means that, while we no longer require that you tag your characters in the comms to have your AC counted, we strongly recommend it for housekeeping purposes! Characters who fail AC will be swept. We will also be following up with players who are getting consistent strikes or regularly passing with the bare minimum. An additional reminder, also, to make use of the drop post should your time with LifeAftr come at an end instead of simply idling out; it helps us out a lot!

3. Setting Changes. As we mentioned earlier, Ziziphus won't be around for very much longer - the god that lived there certainly lived there, to a very, er, "in-depth" extent. For those who were with us back in December, you'll be seeing a very familiar shape on the horizon, come this month's intro...

In the meantime, feel free to use this post as an OOC intro and CR meme for the month of June - for new players to introduce themselves, for old players to meet and greet, and for general plotting to occur! If you want to chat or keep up with game updates, we also have both a plurk and a discord channel!

Character: Taako ohshitsweetflips
Permissions: he is a magic elf but fairly nerfed, no special warnings apply really
Tell us about them: Taako is an elf wizard from a D&D podcast. His name IS pronounced like the food, which should tell you the avg seriousness level of the source material, though it is also heartrendingly sincere and highly recommended. He's a flippant, dramatic, emotionally stunted mess, but he's fine tho.

Taako, a hefty chunk of his canon, and a child he stole are living in a horrible camp in the jungle and running Island Walmart out of the temple. here is a uuuuusually up to date store inventory, Laura (hellawrath) prods me into making an IC store post....periodically.

Current plans: I am always 100% down for more CR, good or bad. rn Taako is kind of recuperating from the whole Bliss thing, which did not go great for him. good luck getting him to explore, better CR opportunities are centered around social events and trading, basically things that are unlikely to get him super murdered.

i really like the usage of friend as a verb here. friend the wizard, shep! has she tried throwing little bits of popcorn increasingly shorter distances away. maybe just leave a cardboard box prominently around for him to get in. it'll be just like a horse movie, only horses are actually useful after you friend them.
